At one of our recent Church Lunches, we had a talk by Colin Pearce about Hearing Dogs.  He told us how this relatively new charity was set up by the father of Ben Fogel.  We heard all about the long and difficult training the dog has to undergo from being a very young puppy and continues when they are allocated to an owner.  They even have to pass exams!  The charity is run purely on donations and the work it does in invaluable.  He told us also what a great difference it can make to the deaf person.  Colin has offered to come back and tell us about the effect the ownership of a hearing dog has.  A good experience to listen to what we never get to know if we are not aware of these hard working charities. 

Muriel and Margaret provided a delicious lunch and all generous donations were added to our two charity funds.
